"We should write a book," Lehoczky declared; it could help democratize advanced math. The two went on to self-publish a two-volume textbook titled "The Art of Problem Solving." The book taught "not facts, but approaches," they wrote. "If you find yourself memorizing formulas, you are missing the point."
